We get asked a lot from small businesses how they can use branding video. Video is an important piece of the puzzle to your website that shouldn’t be ignored and the easiest way to brand yourself online is to tell your story.

Here are some key components to telling the story of your business in an online branding video.

1) Don’t forget what you learned in elementary school: Beginning, Middle and End

Every story needs a beginning, middle and end. The key here is to not spend most of the video being sales driven rather telling a story to build an emotional connection.

  • Beginning: Start off with an anecdote that ties into your industry and also the beginnings of your business
  • Middle: Tie in your product or services and how this relates to the overall mission of your business
  • End: Wrap up the story by referring to the anecdote again

2) Answer the question: What is one thing that makes you unique?

Every business has something that makes them unique, some have multiple things. Focus on the major factor that makes your business stand out against the competition. This should be one of the main focuses of your story.

3) Call to action

What do you want the viewer to do next? This would be a great opportunity to push your audience to a sales page, a blog or even a photo gallery or contact form. You want to build an emotional relationship with your branding video then help your audience navigate deeper into your website.

With these 3 tips you should be well on your way to having a masterful branding video on your site.
